Child Care Services Available During Neshaminy Strike

With the Neshaminy teachers' strike beginning Monday, January 9, plenty of parents with young children may be looking for child care while they are at work. Several businesses have offered child care and day camps during the strike as well as the Neshaminy Kids Club.

The Community Christian Day School will be offering childcare for elementary age children from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. for $30 per day or $125 for the week, which includes lunch. Parents may start bringing their children Monday, but allow five to 10 minutes to fill out an emergency contact form. For more information call 215-322-1245.

The Feasterville Action Karate will be hosting a day camp for children each day of the strike from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. For more information and pricing call 215-355-5003.

The Neshaminy Kids Club will be offering partial or full-day child care at most of the Neshaminy elementary schools. Full-day child care is from 7:15 a.m. until 6 p.m. and $25 per child. Partial care is from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is $20 per child. For families that have more than one child, the second child is $15 and the third child is free. Parents need to provide a bagged lunch for their children, but Neshaminy Kids Club can provide juice or milk and two snacks.

This service will be available at all elementary schools except for Albert Schweitzer Elementary and Walter Miller Elementary. Students in need of day care that attend Schweitzer should report to Pearl S. Buck Elementary and students from  Walter Miller that need care should report to Samuel Everitt Elementary. Parents will need to bring a credit card or check on the first day and fill out a registration form for emergency contact information. For more information call 215-757-2554.
